Kris, I know it is a tough job to maintain a website, however this new one is not user friendly at all. Can you please think of reducing the clutter i.e. bring it closer to previous version?

The new website will take some familiarization period but the deeper integration with the social media is definitely the way the web has developed since our inception, way back in 2006.

By the way the really old timers will remember we had the same issues when we changed from email lists to the Website

Was going to make a comment on here after talking on chat re the new site but Paul has said exactlty what i was about to say! The site looks awesmoe….of course there will be initial teething problems as one would expect butt Kris hs got us into the modern world again. The site did its job but was definitely loking a little dated. Lets help Kris make this a great uer friendly site for ourselves and future Nomads! If people have ideas or would like the od change or have a problem using it then tell him! Dont just say why did we have to change…..without change the world would be a pretty boring place. In fact itss about time i bought myself some sexy new underwear….anyone know a good shop??

hey Kris,
thanks for the video, but you are using tablet, not an iphone.
I was using forum with my previous nokia as well and did not have this problem with chat window. I think it is due to the browser you use.

the problem with iphone/smartphones is that the screen is too small and you loose meaningful information among all other ‘nice goodies’.
how did you shot the movie? did you have helmet with camera mounted on it

Ardis, as I said in the video, I got exactly the same result with an Iphone. I tested it with Rossana’s one. It’s just that I needed to show it easily with a bigger screen.
If you don’t believe me again, I will make another video.

Anyway, I am working on another option, that should display the whole site in a mobile friendly window. You will hear about this soon.
I am restless when it’s up to you Ardis. You are probably the only one using an Iphone to register to our games, but I want every single Nomad to be satisfied with our website !

The movie was shot with a simple camera on a pile of dictionaries. Not very geek, but efficient !

Kris, I don’t think the answers are properly worded and there should be different options. E.g. the answers to the question should be only two: ‘Yes, I like it’ or ‘No, I don’t’.
Alternatively, there should be more options for the answers or even open questions so that everyone can list specific problems or issues. E.g. If there was an answer “Yes, I like it but I think it needs bla-bla-bla…..” I personally would have chosen it. Also, if someone doesn’t like the new site he may not want to go back to email lists – as is the currently suggested answer.
Finally, the current result is very marginal – 7 vs 6 (since these 2 guys who don’t know ‘where is the new website’ don’t like it most probably)

I abstain. I think it’s too early to judge, I think what Kris has tried to achieve is a noble and under appreciated effort. I’m having dreadful trouble navigating around, however that is true when all my favourite websites inevitably upgrade from time to time.

BTW are we playing tomorrow? One example of navigation problems I’m facing.

Kris what is the deal with the club kit? Had a look through the old forum and can’t find the thread.

I thought we agreed to purchase 14 full strips to use when playing other teams?

I took the kit home yesterday to wash and have just counted up we have:

8 shirts of which one is Joro’s so 7.

7 pairs of socks

12 pairs of shorts

Does this mean some people have been taking them or were we short to start with?

we bought 14 full kits without names, and I put them in a big blue bag (forgot the brand name).
then you have been wearing them for our different tournaments/11 a side games, but I have no idea about the missing ones as I never had to deal with thes kits after buying them.
I will try to send a mass mail to remind our members to give hte kits back.

I can get some more Kris… they cost 120 leva each and are made by inmates at China’s largest mental insitution. All monies go towards paying for hookers and absinthe for these poor lost souls. They are hand painted with monkey sperm that has been dyed pink, and with a brush made from the pubic hair of the a rare species of monkey… only found in a remote region of the country close to the northern most point of the Great Wall Of China. I can get a better deal if we order more than twenty at a time. Je Taime!!

I can get more if you like Kris…they are made by the inmates of Chinas largest mental institution and all proceeds go towards hookers and absinthe for these poor lost souls. They are painted with the dyed sperm of the male inmates, and the hair on the brushes are extracted with tweezers from the female inmates whilst they awake are tied up in straight suits…..so as you can see a lot of time effort and pain goes into the making of these beautiful works of art! Kris, there is small change in timing due to guest teams request. First game on Friday stayed unchanged, game on Saturday start at 15:00 and Nomads will play with team from England. Game on Sunday will start same time as announced but will be between two guest teams. I think this schedule is even better for Nomads, as we can give our best on Saturday evening party! Betw. It is planned to have it on Veseloto selo. Guess out President will be happy May I ask you to make these correction in our announcement? It will be good also to know who can play both games from the list and who only one of the days.

No ‘regular member’ registered despite our 3 reminders, this is why Stefan invited some friends.

I will play in goal for the first half on the friday…and hopefully 2nd half outside if picked but would like to play outside on the saturday…..got a bit much in goal on the RD tournament as we had no other volunteers. Maybe we can still try to bring in a goalie from outside the Nomads as its hard to compete against teams with speciialist goalkeepers??

As we have many bulgarian players, I think it would be fair to move the ones with affinities to some countries in their “adoptive nation”.
i.e. : Rado > Spain
Assen, Stefan > Germany/Austria
Vesko > Italy
Biso > France…

No offense Svetlomir, but I think this will be more attractive to keep some language/cultural affinities to make the teams. This was the main point with this tournament.
You will have the opportunity to make friends teams for another tournament maybe.

So far, I can see 25 registered players. That means 4 teams :
1/ Bulgaria
2/ Italy (they can gather 6 players)
3/ Nothern Europe (English + Lennart + every country above Switzerland)
4/ Southern Europe (France, Spain, Albania…)

If we gather 5 more players, we can make another team.

We have a guest team that confirmed playing this tournament : Bulgarian players from team BELOMORETS (Grigor’s friends).

We will play on 2 pitches of course.

Keep sharing and inviting friends, we need to make this event popular and find new members for the next season.

Well, .. after some successful transfers made from Bulgaria team, here is the final version:

Guys, I know the program and team lists are complete but… just two small suggestions:
1. Come on, Bulgarians, our team is short on players and you are playing for foreign countries?! Where’s your national spirit;) Join us!!!:)
2. (Seriously) Don’t you think it will be better to play both matches of a group simultaneously? Then the other group playes its two matches and so on. This way all teams will have 15 minutes of rest between matches. As it is now, some teams are playing two back-to-back games and others have big breaks between games. I think the other way will be more balanced and fair. Just an example – in EURO 2012 both games in a group are played in the same day, not on different days.

Hi, Guys! Our first tournament of the new season is getting close. I am sure all of you are fit and motivated to win! It will be good to make clear some details:
1. does somebody has phone number or contact of Chefo and Bobby. Still do not have confirmation if they will stay with us in the hotel, or will come just for the games
2. we need to know if all the guys from the list are available for friday and saturday games, or there are people who will play one day only. it is important for the team selection

Hi, Gents! I am glad to have you all in the list for our friendly game in Stara Zagora! We have strong Bar team again and that is why everything for Saturday night is planned and organized. Best places in the bars are booked and the girls are waiting!
Our game will be at 16:00h 2 x 25 min. If we want we can play another one on Sunday as well.. but let’s first survive Saturday eve
There will be official dinner for us in the evening and we have bookings in one of the local bars – “Pasha”
We need to see how many cars are available and to organize the pick up.
We need basicly 2 more cars for 6 people, as I will take mine but will travel with family and will pick up Jo as well. I suggets to plan departure around 11:00 – 11:30. We have hour and a half to get to Stara Zagora, but having in mind last weekend it is better to be earlier there and to have time to relax before the game.

Our scout in Belgrade has reported some high intensity performances from our opposition.

I would like to thanks to the members which suggest me as a candidate for a president and with the current message I would like to resign,few days ago i went to Leo’s pizza and everything was arranged No really,I have a lot of arrangments for the coming year,but who knows maybe in 2013 or 2014

I would like to appoint two fantastic members of Sofia Nomads respectively for President and Coach ,

Cris – for President!!!I can hardly imagine our club without him,the heart of the club,the web guru,french connection With his organization skills he showed how use full he can be.

Asen – for coach ,the person who is born to run,pass,score and even his team is loosing with 5 goals and 2 minutes are to the end,he continues to play in order to change the game with full motivation,apart of the fact he speaks 4-5 languages and he can manage to explain the tactic even to Carlos & Chapo

I am sure both of them will be fantastic team for future events,victories,trips and so on!!!

Obviously all the nominated members will be a great choice!!!

Whatever happened on elections Viva Sofia Nomads!!!

I also asked him for a refund as the prize last year was not redeemed. It’s not a prob at the mo as theres always one pitch free and they know we only play once every two or three weeks. Also Plamen is talking about getting his side to play every week so we then only need six Nomad players…this will help us get players signed up faster.

Once again, I’m faced with the issue whether we go for
1. a 1st team with some possibility to win and a 2nd team with less chances, or
2. two equally split teams with limited chance to win

I think you all know how I feel – there are only a handful of these events annually where Sofia Nomads gets the chance to try to win a tournament. We play week in, week out with equally balanced teams.

So unless the entire club is against me, I’ll be proceeding with the first option.

No but if you go up the hill past the university which is on the right..then turn right at the Vasil Levski monument roundabout you are on Yanko Sakazov Blvd. Park Orborishte is 400 metres on left and the pitches are there. Hope this helps.

Great news so we dont have a GK now! You are playing outside for the A Team as well Teodor and Paul says you are good in goal so its just a matter of playing in goal as well for the B team and maybe in the first game or two!?
Without somone reasonable in goal we are going to have a hard time but if thats the case i will play in goal no problem then we are totally screwed haha!
The games are only five minutes each way anyway!

He only told me yesterday there are no showers!!! The Victorias Pizza we meet at after game is on Tsar Assen. Will see you at CCS meet on Costa on ground floor 7.30? Guys, I don’t know exactly where the pitch is, but don’t get fooled by Nick’s poor descriptions… Yes, OMV in Druzhba is on Tsarigradsko Shose, but it is a bit further out than where you get off to go to the airport. You should either get off Tsarigradsko right after Metro (that takes you into Druzhba and you still pass right by OMV) or get off at the OMV gas station….
Again, I don’t know where the pitch is, but if it is next to OMV in Druzhba then above should apply
Any other insights to the location would be nice though… “next to…” is a term sometimes used in a very wide interpretation

This was the phrasing used by the organisor and i simply followed his instructions. If i was sat next to a beautiful chick in a bar this would only be a very wide interpretation if the seats were spaced 200 metres apart. I also asked Kris if he could put a map up.
Anyway i guess if u ask the taxi driver for OMV Druhzba he might just take you to OMV Druhzba….unless of course you are dressed as a crocodile and you say please “impossible in Danish” hehe!

We will play a league basis ie all teams will play each other once. Games will be 15 minutes duration.
Allowing for delays the tournament should end no later than 1400 hrs. We will hopefully have both pitches for part of the event so this may reduce the timescale by approximately an hour.
First game 1100 hrs…..please arrive by 10.40 for national anthems!!!!
